Charcuterie Board Care

Caring for Your Lake Tahoe Charcuterie Board

Each handcrafted piece from Rustic Incline is made to last—but like all natural wood creations, it needs a little love to keep it looking its best. Whether you’re using it as a charcuterie board or displaying it as wall art, proper care helps preserve its beauty for years to come.

🧴 Recommended Supplies:

  • Rustic Incline Wood Wax (all-natural beeswax & food-safe mineral oil)

  • Or any high-quality wood conditioner of your choice

  • Soft cloth or lint-free towel

🧼 Cleaning Instructions:

  • After each use—or every 30 days if displayed—gently rub the surface with lukewarm water.

  • Use mild soap only if absolutely necessary.

  • Never submerge in water or put it in a dishwasher.

  • Let the piece completely air dry before conditioning.

✨ Conditioning Steps:

  1. Apply a thin layer of mineral oil (or your preferred food-safe wood oil).

  2. Let the oil soak in for 15–30 minutes.

  3. Wipe off any excess with a clean cloth.

  4. Rub on a light layer of Rustic Incline Wood Wax (or similar product), covering the entire wood surface.

  5. Let dry for about 30 minutes.

  6. Buff with a dry cloth to bring out a brilliant natural luster.

🏔 Why It Matters:

The dry mountain air of Lake Tahoe can pull moisture from the wood over time. Regular care keeps your board or artwork hydrated, rich in color, and protected from cracking or dulling.
